The Gulf Coast Wing of the CAF tours the United States delivering on our mission to educate the public about the history of U.S. military aviation and its role in U.S. history, to inspire the next generation of aviators and to honor the veterans who flew, built and maintained these aircraft.
Do you want to host a Warbird Expo in your town? A great, enthusiastic host enhances the warbird experience for your local community and for the Commemorative Air Force crew! Below is a summary of the role of the Warbird Expo host, and an application to host an event.
Warbird Expo hosts are typically airport management, local government, a fixed base operator, or an aviation museum.
A Warbird Expo typically runs from Friday through Sunday or from Tuesday through Thursday. During the Expo, our aircraft are on display and open to the public for cockpit tours hosted by the crew, and offer Living History Flight Experiences.
Our hosts frequently provide support in coordinating sponsorship of in-kind donations of:
hotel rooms
rental cars
aircraft fuel
aircraft oil
Hosts also provide contacts for local media and community organizations such as veterans associations, school districts, youth groups. A Warbird Expo will often center around a holiday, a local celebration, or commemoration of an important date.
There is nothing like the sight and sound of a vintage warbird as it flies over your town to bring interest and engagement to a local aviation event. We actively work with our hosts to support the Warbird Expo, including engaging our own very active social media presence and funding advertising.
When selecting locations for local events, we consider available dates, locations, travel, demographics and sponsorship opportunities.
If you are interested in hosting a Warbird Expo at your location, complete the application below, and you will be contacted by a member of our Tour Planning team.
